Using Pinterest to market your wedding venue

When using a social media platform like Pinterest to market your wedding venue there are many specifics to consider that will help you reach a wider audience.

Consider the types of people that use the site.

Studies have shown that the largest percentile of people on Pinterest are those aged between 16-29, 70% of which are female. Many wives-to-be like to be active in the planning of their special day. Pinterest can be a wonderful platform for them as it can contain all their interesting finds in one easy-to-access place. That’s perfect because it means your wedding venue’s desired clientele and demographic, those in their 20s and 30s, are already using Pinterest. All you have to do is come up with the eye-catching posts and pins to draw them in.

The most pinned topics throughout Pinterest are those that relate to lifestyle, food and home.

These are umbrella terms for categories that contain things like art, flowers, gifts and gardens. All vital elements in creating that memorable day for your client's wedding. Consider making boards for these topics as many prospective brides and grooms will be looking for little details like this to make their wedding one-of-a-kind.

Visually your posts should look desirable and neat.

Pinterest says that all pins should aim to be beautiful, helpful and actionable. Colour has a vital part to play in attracting visitors. Think about what it is that you can do to make your pins stand out whilst considering these three pointers. Always provide links to further information too. If people want to know more about what you’re offering, don’t deny them that.

The way in which you write is important.

Aim to use just above 300 characters. Anything far below or far above has been proven to be less successful. If you’re selling something, always include the price, detailed information as well as a link so they can buy the product straight away if they want. We all know how susceptible humans are to impulse buys. Always include calls to action linking the posts to your own websites. This will help drive traffic from Pinterest back to your company. Keywords are also crucial as this is what will help bring viewers to the site. Pick them wisely.

The best time to post.

Studies have shown that the most popular times to post on Pinterest are the weekends. Saturdays and Sundays are when most people will be searching through their feeds for inspiration. Avoid posting during working hours Monday to Friday. Most people are too busy to notice any new posts popping up on their feeds. It has also been shown that the most successful posts usually go live between the hours of 8 - 11pm on the weekend. Something to keep in mind.

Networking has huge benefits.

A good way to get more posts about your venue out on the world wide web is to collaborate with companies that supply products for weddings. For example - florists, wedding photographers, cake companies and dress designers are all good people to get involved with. All of these businesses will be happy for the attention and more often than not they will be glad to return the favour by posting links and pins which will direct some of their clients back to your venue’s site.

So, if keeping these points in mind, there’s no reason your wedding venue’s Pinterest account can’t be jam packed with viewers and followers. So, start pinning today!
