Japanese small plates, cocktails & bao buns
The vast majority of Japanese restaurants in London are a little on the stuffy side, places with minimal and conservative interiors and branding. In short, although the food is generally very good the restaurants and brands themselves are boring.
The brief, therefore, for a new Japanese restaurant near Marylebone station was for a fun, original brand with a distinctive look and feel. When researching names of Japanese restaurants we were struck by just how many were difficult to pronounce and weren’t memorable at all.
“…This place is full of fun – and heart”
David Ellis from the evening standard
“Banga banga cauliflower is a bowl to be devoured, soft and gently spicy; panko prawns are crunchy straws of pink fleshy fish, still with plenty of spring in them.
Kara-age chicken wings, the deep-fried sort, are slathered winningly with a thick mayo of lemon and the by-now legally-mandated garlic and chilli.”
What we did
Our creative team have always loved Manga, so leapt at the chance to create a stunning brand built on its style. The name just jumped out and stuck immediately. As part of the restaurant branding work we created all brand touch points, including the menu, drinks list, posters, flyers and website.
The launch marketing campaign was wide-reaching in its scope and focused on Google Adwords, Local SEO, Booking Platforms, Flyering outside Marylebone station and Media Relations.
We’ve worked with over 200 brands over 6 countries since 2009, including:
