Despite having loyal diners and being described as local gems, neighbourhood restaurants continue to lose out on new business in comparison to the opening of established chains.
81 Beach Street came to us with a great seasonal menu and non-pretentious concept, so instead of changing the brand to attract new customers, the restaurant needed a great marketing team to target a new, younger audience.
We first reached out to creative local businesses, building relationships with record shops, galleries and boutiques and adding them to our mailing list. Then, we worked on an online presence. We created a buzz around new menu launches with well-targeted Facebook adverts, engaged with trending foodie hashtags on Twitter and launched user-generated competitions on social media. This actively encouraged guests to come, take photos of their meals and share their experience.
In only one month, sales at this neighbourhood staple increased by 26%. The highest monthly increase the team has seen in over 7 years.
